Who is she?

Angela L. Robinson (LPC MH, NCC) is the Clinical Director at NorthNode Group Counseling where she oversees the creation and implementation of child and adult outpatient mental health programs, ensures the highest-quality standards for NorthNode’s Intensive Outpatient Program, and addictions, substance abuse and opioid treatment recovery center.

Background

With more than twelve-years of one-on-one psychotherapy and group therapy for children, adolescents, and adults; Angela is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) for the State of Delaware and is a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). She has built a behavioral health specialty by working with clients that deal with anxiety, bipolar, depression, and more acute mental health diagnosis. Her clinical work includes conducting and overseeing individual psychotherapy for a variety of issues, couples therapy, and family therapy and a number of supervisees, Angela has an expert focus on psychotherapy dealing with a variety of diagnosis and addiction treatment and recovery, as well as relapse treatment and prevention, skills training, and working to help family systems impacted by addictions like (opioids, illicit drugs, eating disorders, and intergenerational patterns of behavior).

In addition to the unparalleled experience Angela brings to NorthNode, she’s trained in the latest crisis intervention practices, co-occurring disorders and behavioral intervention using various counseling modalities, including, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, and earned a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Springfield College, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Angela’s personal mission is to help individuals enhance their overall quality of life by equipping them with the necessary skills and tools to take life on with a smile.

As a life-long native of Dover, she can trace her family roots going back 100-years to when they farmed the land in Delaware. She believes and understands first-hand that the backbone of Delaware is built on community; by strengthening families, and positioning individuals – young and old – for success and accountability through their behaviors and attitudes.
