Charles Robinson-Snead
LPCMH - OUTPATIENT THERAPIST
Provide mental health outpatient, SUD outpatient, and TSF services.
Who is he?
I have five years of experience working with individuals, and specialize in Black Men’s issues, Identity/Self-Esteem, Youth Mental Health, and Complex traumas.
I’m a strong believer that anything is possible, if only we believe and put the work in. In fact, one of my favorite quotes is by Medgar Evers, a Civil Rights Activist and Secretary who said, “A man that really wants to do something finds a way; others find excuses.” I feel the same way about our mental and emotional health, well-being, and healing. We can either face the facts, do the work and heal or continue to wallow in the detriments of life.
I enjoy walking with people on a journey of accountability, facing and overcoming challenges, and experiencing the awe feeling of growth, progression, and healing. I provide a safe space because I find that is the priority for those who have experienced any form of trauma, and I understand that looks different for each person. I enjoy relationship building with anyone I work with and finding things to laugh at. Why? Well, because life can be intense and stressful, so what else better to do than to find things to laugh at? Besides, laughter is good for the soul!
Professional & Educational Background
I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Eastern University (St. Davids, PA) and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Delaware State University (Dover, DE). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health (LPCMH) in DE and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in NJ.
I am a two time Ronald E. McNair Scholar which is recognition for research in my respective field (Psychology).
More About
I’m an avid lover of Black people and our culture. I’m quite invested in my spirituality/spiritual health and well-being and serve regularly at my church. I consider myself to be eclectic as I enjoy a wide genre of many things; whether with music, food, sports, etc. However, my favorite foods are soul food and seafood and my favorite music ranges all over the place (old school hip-hop, conscious rap, Gospel, country, classical, orchestras, opera, rock, alternative, jazz, and the blues). Some of my favorite pastimes and methods of coping are cooking and baking from scratch (I make some pretty serious pound cake and cookies). I thoroughly enjoy nature, museums, and parks. I love to read, write/journal, spend time thinking and processing my thoughts and site seeing. I’m a Redskins fan but I don’t watch football. I’m a Phillies fan but I don’t watch baseball. I’m a Bulls and Wizards fan (only because Michael Jordan played for them) but I don’t watch basketball. Nonetheless, I started boxing in June of 2021 and have fallen in love with the sport ever since. AND I LOVE MY FAMILY & FRIENDS! Alright folks…that’s me!
