Who is he?

I enjoy putting together safe and family friendly events for clients, their families, and the community. I want you to develop team-building skills, find your creativity, and have some fun while we get down to your mental health business. I regularly volunteer with the Food Bank of DE to provide food packages to patients who are in need of food, resources during the holidays, and the soup kitchen to provide soup during dosing hours at the facility.
Background
As a person with lived experiences; SUD and mental health, I am a survivor. My life experiences have prepared me and provided me with the opportunity to help others who have experienced similar life events by caring and sharing my story. I am a firm believer that “Each One Teach One.” Listening and learning to understand is the key to establishing rapport. Maya Angelou, American Poet, memoirist, and civil rights activist once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This is a great understanding of the meaning of empathy.
My clients can expect to receive person-centered treatment, utilizing a holistic approach. By providing support that looks at the whole person, not just their mental health needs — you can expect support that will address your physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing. For example, if an individual is in need of transportation or housing, I will work with them to figure out resources and help them obtain the services they need. I will help you to identify your strengths, needs, abilities and preferences in treatment. We will then develop a treatment plan with goals, methods and interventions that are measurable to help you achieve your goals. I will meet you where you are in your recovery and help you address any barriers that are affecting your treatment in order to be successful.
Depending on which therapy is right for you, I run both Group Therapy and/or Individualized Therapy (one-on-one).
More About
I am an avid chess player and enjoy competitive chess events. I attend all recovery events in Delaware and you may find me at a table as a host. I would enjoy coaching a youth basketball team. My past basketball escapades were filled with great memories of winning championships as the most valuable player. Working with Code Purple Kent County and helping people is my passion and motivation. Any human being needs to know they are cared about and they are important. If I had one day to spend with a mentor I would choose Dr. Cornel West because of his intellectual brilliance on many subjects. Currently enrolled in Delaware Technical Community College pursuing my Associate Degree in Human Services/Alcohol Drug Counseling. By the way, I am a fan of Jeopardy. Let’s do some trivia!!!
Currently volunteers with Code Purple Kent County as a Community Peer Support Specialist working with men and women in need of supportive services. Volunteer as a Chess Mentor with After School Activities Partnership, Life Group Coach at MLCC, Smart Justice Ambassador Graduate w/ ACLU, Kappa Alpha Psi founding father at California State University Chico.
