Who is she?

I have two-years of experience working in Individual Therapy. I enjoy working with all individuals, especially the LGBTQ+ community, Youth and Adults experiencing or having experienced domestic violence, OCD, Postpartum Depression, ODD, RAD Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Eating Disorders, psychosis, substance use disorders,  Immigration and Relationship issues. I’m also a Certified Youth Mental Health First AID Instructor

My work philosophy: Life is full of challenges, ups and downs. All in all, no one is perfect. In reality, we all may be in need of help at some point in our lives for different reasons. I want all my clients to remember that you are not alone in this journey called life. What I learned as a wife and mom is to take life one day at a time and I encourage my clients to do the same. I enjoy helping all people no matter their ethnicity, age, gender, or sexual preference and vow to create and withhold a non-judgmental safe space where you will always feel heard. I truly believe life is all about learning through trial and error. We will both learn a lot from one another, thus, there’s always room for growth!

Prior to my current role as a therapist here at NorthNode, I spent some time as an Assistant Area Manager and Family Support Assistant Manager at another Mental Health agency in Havre, Montana working with at-risk youth. It was there where I first found my love for the Mental Health field. We focused all of our efforts on working to keep families together.

I’ve also taught Spanish in Montana and in Dover, Delaware at the Middle School and High School levels (hola!!). I enjoy researching and implementing the latest theories on Counseling, Family Systems Theory, Group Theory, Psychopathology and Psychological Assessment.

Background

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature from Delaware State University, and I am currently earning a Masters of Science in Counseling and Human Services with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Post University.

More About

Fun Facts About Me: I am a college football coach’s wife, a mom of two to the most precious boys (a toddler and a 3-month-old). We love spending our Saturdays watching my husband coach the young football players play their hearts out on the field. I enjoy teaching my oldest Spanish and watching telenovelas on netflix. I am also a foodie and enjoy trying new foods from diverse cultures and listening to music in all languages. As a family, we enjoy traveling, including spending time at the beach!
